Rainy afternoon |
I really like that we can carpool together now. He drives our little orange to his office, then I drive to mine, and I go back and get him in the afternoon. Sometimes he ends up having to stay late, and I'll sit in our car reading my Kindle. I have to admit, I like those moments. Greg always feels terrible when I end up waiting for him, but it's kind of relaxing to know that I can't do anything but hang out and read. I can't clean the kitchen, or return emails, or hang up clothes, or sort through all those handwritten family letters that belonged to my late uncle, or scrub the shower, or any of the other zillion things that are constantly banging around in the back of my head. I like it.
Win win! The car is a beauty by the way. It definitely says "Look out world!" Great color!
ReplyDeleteIt's in my nature not to want to be looked at, and this car definitely gets noticed. It's adorable, though, and we love it! Plus we had the windows tinted, so even if people are looking at the car, they are not necessarily seeing me. :D
DeleteHi Ellen...hope all is well with you...sounds as if your world is happy and cozy. :) I know just what you mean about those moments of waiting becoming a pleasure whenever quiet reading is involved (or even loud reading ...sometimes). Since grade school I've always carried a book with me (books, plural, now, thanks to kindle) just hoping for that stolen treasure of a moment to read just a few more pages and...if lucky...an entire chapter...while waiting! When our kids were little I'd arrive at their school early to pick them up and not only avoid the traffic jams but get a prime parking spot and a good 15-20 minutes of quiet reading time! Ahhh...the simple pleasures of life. :))). Sending good thoughts your way.

Tracey, how great to see you here again! I've always been a book carrier, too, and having a Kindle makes it so easy.
