It was a dark and stormy afternoon...

Inspired by my friend Angella, who has recently become intimately connected with Instagram and is finding new creative joy in photography.  I have been playing around with Snapseed, a similar photo editing app, and I think I'll share them here.

This is a familiar summer afternoon sight for Floridians, who get rained on every day during the afternoon commute.  I obviously did mess around with the focus area and the saturation and the contrast, but I swear this is just how dark and stormy the sky looked.

  1. Yaaaay! I am thrilled you're going to share your pictures! This one is amazing. I clicked on it and made it big and it is art! Who cares if you play around with filters and focus and stuff. The way I see it, it's about getting the picture you see in your minds eye. For some that is a faithful rendition of the outer world. For some it is more impressionistic. Sometimes it varies with our mood. All variations are valuable. I love seeing your work. You are an artist in your soul. (And if I didnt know that before, I sure knew it from that post about the Adam Ant concert!) Love to you, dear friend.

    1. Oh, thank you so much, Angella. You don't know how much your kind words mean to me right now. I've been in a bit of a creative slump lately, and I'm trying to claw my way out.

By the way, I love your self-portrait avatar :)

You are in my thoughts and in my heart today, my friend.
