Dark

Man, old Debby sitting on top of Florida has made the past several days dark, wet, windy, and completely unpleasant.  I get a little depressed when I don't see the sun for days and days.   I haven't had it nearly as bad as some parts of Florida, with flooding and tornadoes and power outages, so I shouldn't complain. But still.  Dark grey skies are just wrong, where is my blue sky?

Next week Greg and I had planned to be on vacation, we got our time off requests approved months ago.  We weren't planning to go anywhere, other than driving to the beach one day.  Greg is not a fan of the beach, but once every ten years or so I feel justified in guilting him into it.

The week after that I made a reservation for the guest room in Mom's retirement home, so I'll be visiting her for three days.  I have to admit, I am really looking forward to that.

Now that I have more time to play around, I made a new header for the blog.  The old header was awesome, if I do say so myself, and I'm not sure yet how I feel about the new one.  Leave me a comment and tell me what you think!

I'm trying to be colorful and cheer myself up.  Here's a photo I took of the sun a while ago, hopefully one day soon I'll see the sun again.

  1. i loooooove the new header! Such amazing colors!!!! Don't get me wrong, you know I loved your old header, too, but to come here and meet those colors was quite a rush. Now that you have a little more time, maybe you'll share some more of your art. I would love that. Hugs, dear friend.

    1. Thanks, Angella! Those long dark days of rain made me crave color. :)

  2. I like the technique in the new header but not the subject. Those lamps always make me think of fusty desperation...and that is NOT you.
Enjoy your little advetures and take notes, especially when you visit your mom; old people amaze me. I found out that the 80-year old lady two of my cats go visit was in the signal corps during the Korean War. She met her husband, an airforce pilot, later and he called her a 'grunt' since she had been in the army and he was a flyboy:)
I love your sunshine picture:) That, to me, is you.

    1. Aw, really? I love that little lamp, I got it when I was a teenager at a fancy/romantic store in the mall. I've always thought they were dreamy and sweet. To make it even more girly, I have a low-watt pink bulb in it.

Your neighbor sounds like a hoot. Wouldn't it be fun to follow your cats around one day and see where they go?

Thanks for being here, Wooz :)
